Dr. Goh has been serving at The Garden since December 1987, and is now our Senior Pastor. When he was 16, he first said “yes” to his call to ministry after years of resistance. He can’t remember a time not knowing Christ, but he has rededicated his life to Him many times over the years. As he’s grown in the Lord over the years, the primary way he’s seen change is in his capacity to receive and give love. He’s always had vision and been a hard worker, but it’s taken experiencing the Father’s love and grace time and time again that allows him to know and express love in word and deed towards others. He encourages everyone to join a group and take the risk of trusting others within this group, as well as serving and giving regularly- taking ownership and becoming a stakeholder in all the great outcomes and testimonies of our life together at The Garden.
Darrin Kirkindoll has been our Executive and Worship Pastor for Finance and Worship for the last 8 years, but has been serving in the worship ministry for the past 21 years. He grew up in a Christian home but had his first encounter when he was 11 years old. Darrin has always had a close relationship with God but when he matured and started getting into ministry, his life was forever changed. He feels like he’s always known Him but when he truly surrendered everything to Him in his early 30’s is when he began to experience his true identity and freedom in Him. He encourages everyone to inquire about our home groups because it is a great way to meet people.
Rob Allison has been with The Garden Church since January 1996 and is an Associate Pastor for missions, outreach and pastoral care. In August of 1993 he was attending a conference at a church when God called him to a life of vocational ministry. He was 16 years old when The Lord entered his life and radically transformed him. He strongly believes that getting involved in the local church is the key to maturity and growth in Christ.
Christie Badger is an Associate Pastor for the Family & Children’s Ministry at The Garden. She gave her life to the Lord in April of 1989, beginning her journey with Christ. Christie has been serving at the church since June 6, 2011 but began serving the ministry of children at the age of 20. Her life has changed drastically since she accepted Christ into her life and feels like she has been given a larger capacity to love others more intensely. Encouraging people to get involved in the church by sharing her gifts and talents with the body of Christ is one of her favorite things about serving. Christie is all about fun and loving, teaching our children the way of Christ and letting them know that He loves them.
Timothy Berry has been with the Garden for four years and is currently an Associate Pastor. He met Jesus when he was three years old and was first called to ministry at the age of 13. He encourages everyone to get involved with a small group, attend Connection Point on Wednesdays, and join the Garden School of Kingdom Ministry to dive deeper into knowing the Father’s Love and getting to know the person of the Holy Spirit. He has loved learning how much God’s unconditional love is able to be experienced daily, that Jesus is not still hanging on the cross, but is the victorious King who rules from authority now in Heaven and that the Holy Spirit is with us at all times to help us live out of God’s love and Christ’s victory.
Amanda has been attending The Garden since 2002, and volunteering since 2007. She now works on staff as our Sr. Pastor’s Assistant and Finance Coordinator. She credits amazing leadership and the culture of The Garden for creating a place for her to step into ministry and the space where serving others just felt right. She’s known Jesus since she was a child, and loves serving a God that gave His son away for us no matter how far we stray. Amanda believes that The Garden is a safe place to experience God’s love and a community where you are loved, and invites you to overcome any fears that come with trying something new!
Danielle Chun is a Pastoral Assistant at The Garden Church and has been with us for about 4 months. She was raised in a Christian home but did not fully understand the effect The Lord was going to have on her life until she was 13. She had an encounter with God that forever changed her. She was called to ministry when she was in college. Danielle believes that everyone is a gift to this world and encourages people to get involved by joining small groups or serving as volunteers.
Samuel Hook has been volunteering at the Garden for almost 15 years, and recently joined our staff as a Pastoral Assistant. He was called to ministry before he was born, when a prophetic word was spoken over his life. The Lord has continued to grow this calling, and Samuel is honored that he can pursue that full heartedly. He first fell in love with the Lord at 13, and since then he has learned to see through His eyes, seeing the sliver of King Jesus’s heart in every single person. He encourages everyone to find a group of people or an activity that the Lord has placed on their heart and serve through their heart’s passions.
Lorie Kirkindoll has been serving at The Garden for about 5 years, and is currently the Assistant to the Children’s Pastor. She first met Jesus at a church event when she was 18 years old, and has found that since that day her life has had meaning. She knows that she was made with and for a purpose, and part of that purpose was found 14 years ago when she was called into ministry. Lorie encourages everyone to get involved in an area of the church that interests them!
Frankie Poyner has been attending The Garden with his family since 2014, and began serving on staff in January 2017. He was saved in 1987 and baptized in 2017, though he has been attending the Lord’s house since birth. His family has become very involved in our different ministries, and he believes that The Garden has truly been a blessing to his family. He encourages everyone to find an area to get involved, whether it be during the work days or volunteering for events and ministry.
In addition to the pastoral leadership, The Garden is overseen by the elders who form the senior leadership of the congregation. The group of elders are both staff and non-staff members. For more information, go to the elders page.
